Curriculum Transformation: Delivering Education and Skills for the Next Generation
Riseholme is seeking the views of leading businesses and stakeholders across the region as part of a comprehensive review of the college’s curriculum for 2020-2025, in order to be able to produce a highly skilled future workforce for Lincolnshire.
The event takes place at the Showground Campus, on Lincolnshire Showground, on Thursday, 7th November, commencing with a drinks reception at 4pm. Following addresses by Mr Meredith and the LEP, attendees will be given the opportunity to express their views in group sessions.

Some of our member orgs (BGU, Lagat and Univ of Lincoln) are supporting a breakfast Cyber Security Forum at BGU on the 17th April. This will be the Launch Event for the new quarterly Forum, the Forum is supported and sponsored by Marc Jones Lincolnshire's Police & Crime Commissioner and the EMSOU - East Midlands Special Operations Unit.

03/03/2019 MBA Leadership Apprenticeship Programme - available from Uni of Lincoln
Following the successful launch of the MBA Leadership apprenticeship programme (SLMDA) in January, we are now looking to start our second cohort on this flagship leadership course in May 2019. So far the feedback from our 16 learners has been very strong, with emphasis being placed on ‘Leading and Developing People’, which is being personally led by the Head of the Business School, Dr Craig Marsh. The course is designed for mid-senior leaders who are looking to step up their learning to complement their work experience and is fully accredited by the Chartered Manager’s Institute (CMI). We are now taking applications for our next intake. For many organisations, it is fully fundable through the apprenticeship levy.
If you or anyone in your organisation are interested in finding out more, we have an information session set up on the 14th March here at the Lincoln International business School. Details on the event and how to book are here:

Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation NHS Trust have developed the 'Recovery College' in Lincs. The focus is on education rather than therapy and the project offers courses on mental health and how to manage it. Much more detail can be downloaded via this link

We have confirmed the date and venue of our next good practice event 'Apprenticeships Where are We Now ?'. The event will take place on the morning of Friday the 23rd Feb 2018 at Nettleham Police HQ and we have booked Claire Flavell (Strategic Lead for the NHS Lincolnshire Talent Academy) and Jo Maher (The Principal - Boston College) to deliver the keynote addresses. Save The Date ! Thursday 14th December - breakfast event in Lincoln
"Working collaboratively with the private sector to deliver public services"
In December the Greater Lincolnshire Public Service Compact will be staging a good practice event to raise the profile of collaborative working with the private sector to deliver public services. This breakfast event is being kindly sponsored by Serco and is being hosted by the City of Lincoln Council on the 14th December. Planning for the event is in the early stages but already we know that there will be contributions from Philip Ruston the Business Development Director for Serco and from Paul Collins the Chair of the Compact Steering Group. It is anticipated that other high profile public service professionals will be 'booked in' to make a contibution. There will also be an opportunity for you to discuss with colleagues as to how your organisation could benefit from enagaging with outsourcing arrangements. The event will start at 0800 (with a bacon roll and a coffee!) and will conclude at 1030.
To reserve a delegate place at this exciting event all you need to do is email chris@donkinitex.co.uk stating your intention to attend. I will book you in and send you the confirmed agenda in mid November and also full joining instructions about a week before the event. If your organisation is a member organisation of the Compact (we have 34 member organisations so the likelihood is that this will apply) then your delegate place is free. For non members the delegate fee is £65.

At the Lincs Compact SG meeting in Feb it was decided that the Compact would work to increase the number of Apprentices in the public sector by 12% in 2017. Preparing for the New DfE Careers Strategy
Thursday 27th April 2017 – Bishop Grosseteste University Lincoln
Complete-Careers LLP in partnership with Unifrog invites you to an event designed to help you prepare for the new Department for Education’s National Careers Strategy. The conference will consider three main strands to help withrethinking careers for schools, colleges and training providers, while providing you with an opportunity to network with careers colleagues.
The three workshop themes are:
- Innovative ideas and tools for 21st century career learning including Unifrog
- Quality assurance of careers programme including Quality Awards for Ofsted and others
- Apprenticeship developments and initiatives and Labour Market Information
Nationally recognised leader in the field of careers education and guidance, David Andrews OBE makes a welcomereturn to provide information and interpretation on present and potential future developments. Helen Renard Head of Sir Robert Pattinson Agenda regular national speaker will talk about why she thinks it is important to embed career learning and the impact/importance of holding a quality award.
We have already had confirmation that Jan Ellis is Chief Executive of the CDI will be with us for an update and as part of the Expert Panel in the Plenary session. Unifrog will be a key part of a workshop. We are also pleased to announce an arrangement with Unifrog that will allow their users a reduction in Career Mark membership fees and for Career Mark members/Award holders to have a reduction on the Cost of Unifrog platforms. Prospects will also be attending with resources and we are optimistic other exhibitors will be present.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The full day delegate cost is £95 (with a 25% discount for additional delegates from the same organisation).
